Spending 3 nights in Abu Dhabi, UAE (Low Cost), how?

Question

I reside in Lagos, Nigeria and I plan to sit for CFA exam on 6th December 2008 at Abu Dhabi, UAE.

I need suggestions on the fflg.:

- VISA processing

- Cheap Ticket & hotel and the best time to book.

- Lean Budget: i plan to spend 3 nights but need access to internet on phone and Laptop.

Any info would be appreciated.

I checked out the prices for the Hilton Hotel in Abu Dhabi for December. USD 170 per night.

I do not know if the Hilton has Internet access (doubt it) but there are enough internet cafes in the city. I take it for granted that every hotel room has a phone, but international calls made from a hotel room are kinda costly. On the other hand, calls from land line to land line within Abu Dhabi are free.

Visa: if your visa is not provided by the CFA Institution, you have to obtain a tourist visa through the hotel or the travel agency. A tourist visa costs Dhs 100 + Dhs 10 delivery and is valid for 30 days. You need to hold a copy of it when you board in Nigeria and will receive the original at the Immigration desk at the Airport. Some hotels waive the visa fees when booking on line.

For the cheapest tickets please check out on line different Airlines and travel agencies. The cheapest flight might be with Qatar airlines for USD 895.

But beware ... cheap hotels can be trouble some times so check reviews of the hotel you are going to book.
