We have a 2 day museum pass included, a 1/2 day bus tour, travel to versaille is included (and versaille tour is covered under museum pass) 2 meals a day are included in our trip but we are responsible for all beverages. Do you think 600.00 USD will be enough?

  1. unless you plan on getting extremely wasted, i think that should be enough... everything else is paid for right?

  2. Hmm, if it was me I would plan on spending 60 EUR per day and person - but out of this I would pay for accomodation, all food and drinks (3 meals a day), all entry to sights and all transport.

So 600 USD for drinks and souveniers sounds fine, especially if it is for only one person.

  3. $100 US a day will work out to maybe 65 euros when you actually change your money. You get less when you change money that the rate you will see on quoted websites.

That's certainly enough for drinks and the one  meal you must pay for yourself although you need to be alert as to prices. There are plenty of places in areas like the rue Moufetard (5th arrondissement) where you can get a full meal (first course, main course, dessert and a glass of wine) for around 10-12 euros. But there are also places where dinner and drinks can run more than a hundred euros. Luckily, all places seerving food are required to post their prices where they can be read by someone standing on the street. so check before you go into any place.

Drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, tend to be very much more expensive in Paris than in the United States. That's because people in Paris often buy one drink and nurse it for hours. If you're just thristy and not looking to hangout someplace then either buy something from a grocery store of have a drink standing up at the bar (where prices are lower),

  4. That equates to about 400 euros.  I think it should be plenty for one person for 6 days, depending on how much souvenir stuff you plan to buy.  Two people could get by on that if they economized by asking for "un carafe d'eau" instead of buying bottled water with meals, and got lunch from bakeries instead of going to cafes or brasseries.  Better yet, buy food from one of the outdoor markets and eat in a park or along the Seine -- just be sure to bundle up because it will be chilly if you're traveling between now and April.
