Question:

Spending money in Russia?

If I were to stay in Russia (1 month in St Petersburg/3-5 months in Moscow) for 4 - 6 months, living with a host family who supply breakfast and dinner, how much would I need a week in spending money.

I was thinking of taking AUD$300 to AUD$350 max a week.

Most of the museums are covered under the programs fees, so I'll only need money for lunches, any maybe buying some souvenirs.

  1. "cold grey Ash" true.

    Advice.

Buy a monthly ticket. Save on transportation costs.

PS If you can, then visit the Yaroslavl. Very beautiful city. 270 kilometers from Moscow.

  2. A$300 - $350 will be plenty since most of your expenses are covered already. You may have some weeks where you spend more, but most weeks you will spend less.

  3. Lunches and stuff are expensive if you don't know where to go - the street vendors will be your best bet.  I would say at least that - especially if you want to go out at nights - if you won't be, or are underage - that will probably be enough.

  4. 300 will be plenty make sure you buy a travel card to save on cash this way you can treat yourself to a top reaustrant be also i suggest taking a tour of moscow to be honest souveners wont be too expensive you will probably have left over cash anyhow enjoy your trip
