Sperm count after vasectomy reversal?

my hubby had reversal in late february, we turned in sample for analysis. urologist called him yesterday and said results not good (all my hubby would say when explaining was his had bad news, adn he didn't have swimmers).

when we preformed the sample last week, we did it at home (we knew we had about one hour to turn in). sample collected at 10:30, immediately left house (sample in brown bag, room temp) and arrived at lab at 11:10- knowing we had about twenty minutes left. no secretar or technicians visiable, signed in at 11:11 and marked specimen dropoff. at 11:25 a tech came out, called the next name in the list (six ahead of us), and my husband stood and showed her the bag to try and drop hint. she said just a minute, and continued to call person by person-- my hubby was finally called to register at 11:40, and specimen taken in back wehn he went back for blood draw at 12:10.

could the lab's error be the prob? the urologist has sked my husband come back with another sample directly to his office to be immediately analyzed, but the distance from the office puts us at the cut off point.... anyone with suggstions? looking around on sights today, varying opinions from having a specimen analysis at 3 and 6 months, etc.

  1. Collect your specimin at the urologists office.  I would think that would be the prefered method given time and heat are working against your little swimmers.

    All the Best.

  2. This is definitely a lab-error,it was exposed to a to high temperature way to long.

Best to do:let the urologist do the check:who knows how long they let you wait some where else again?

    Planets.
