Spider in baby room?

I live around Ft Bragg, NC and we just found a spider last night, Ive done research on it but cant find the dar thing anywhere. My husband is convinced it is a taranchila (however you spell that) but I hve seen many of those growing up in El Paso and it didnt look like one. It was about the size of a dollar coin maybe a little bigger, it was brown with furry legs and fangs and it had a very defined thin white stripe going down it's tail. Also the legs looked pointy. Anybody know what we're dealing with here

  1. If no answer satisfy's you , you can rely on these websites -

  2. It might be a brown recluse. They are pretty common in the south east and the description that you gave sounds just like it. They are poisonous, if bitten go to the hospital. The surrounding tissue can die, but it is very treatable.

  3. Since I have never lived in the southeast, I'm not really sure about what types of spiders live there.  However, I use the following two links quite often to help me in identifying unknown spiders.  Hopefully, they will help you.  Good luck.

Edit:  I wouldn't panic about the brown recluse being your spider since most of the reliable sites that I have been to explain that brown recluse spiders do not have hairs on their legs, and since yours does, I don't think that it is one.  However, I would still try to identify the spider if possible.  After thinking about your spider a little bit, I wonder if it was a wolf spider since some articles say that many people confuse them with tarantulas.  I know that our wolf spiders get about the size of a dollar coin and are pretty hairy, but I'm not sure if they live in N.C.  Also, here is another link that I found interesting:

  4. kharris beat me to it. This sounds to  me like a brown  recluse. Take some precautions. I was bit by  one and suffered quiet a bit as a result!

  5. Recluse is NOT found around FT Bragg, it must be a Wolf Spider.
