Question:

Spider web pocket type thing...

I was in the backyard today and I noticed an odd spider web on an ivy leaf. (english ivy) If you imagined the leaf being a pair of pants, then the web would be the pocket, except it is upside down. I glimpsed the spider crawling in through the opening in the bottom of the web. I blanked out what it looked like, but it wasn't big, maybe the size of a raisin. The web itself was about the size of the surface of a round doorknob. I know that isn't the best description, but it's all I could think of. What kind of spider is it? Thanks.

  1. There is no way of knowing the spider type, without a clear description of the spider, or a picture, as the web they build is random, and is done to be as stable as possible on the surface provided. If the spider moved to another surface, the web would change.

If you are worried about it, catch it in a jar, and take to a vet, as they will be able to tell you.

Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck. :)
