Spiderman movies question ?

Do you ever get slightly annoyed of how boring they made the character of peter parker/spiderman in his movies. I mean he almost never cracks a joke, and even though he is correctly protrayed as a university student...they never show him using his intelligence in practical situations as spiderman.

I mean seriously spiderman in the movies, never does anything overtly clever to defeat his villians. And that's a shame, because spiderman, really is supposed to be a smart guy.

he used it a couple times. when he led new goblin down that alley only to clothesline him with the web.  he remembered to use sound for venom, who else would have thought to do a bunch of sound vibrations around venom?
