Spiders in florida?

I just moved to florida like a month ago and I went outside to smoke and there was a huge spider on the step, its was totally black, and looked fuzzy but I'm not sure. I'm scared to death of spiders so I didn't get that close but the body of it was like an 3/4 of an inch long and as round as like my pointer finger. and it moved really fast. but it didnt have any color, it was jet black. Does anyone know what kind of spider it is? and how do I make it go away? and stepping on it isn't an option I cant get that close or I hyperventilate.

  1. There are over 3500 species of spiders in the U.S. alone, so it's hard to say what kind it is. However, there are only two spiders which are dangerous to humans in the U.S., and the one you saw isn't one of them. It osunds like a species of wolf spider. They can become large and are both fast and fuzzy. Black widows are neither fuzzy nor fast. As far as how to make it go away, it sounds like it did that on its own when it ran away. Spiders, just like snakes, have a very unearned reputation and are nothing to worry about.

  2. this is probably random but did you know most people eat about 5 to 6 spiders in their sleep within their lifetime without knowing?

i have a phobia of spider as well. spider are sometimes a good thing because they kill annoying insects and prevents them from going into your house. if its outside your house you should leave it alone.

spiders in the U.S. are nothing compared to spiders in Iraq. spiders there are about 2 feet long.

  3. Could be a black widow which are deadly. *Shivers* Glad I don't live in Florida.
