today i saw the 4th spider in my bathroom this week.

i perosnally dont think its dat dangerous or aggressive because, well it just dont act like it.

but it is getting annoying how i always find spiders in my bathroom and most no where else in my house.

when i walk into the bathroom and turn the light on thers this spider on the wall that is coming down really quickly and its really annoying.

the spider is brownish and has lines on its leg like a fishing spider.

i dont think its a brown recluse, but it moves really quickly. and its about a size of a penny to rarely a quarter when legs ARENT stretched out. ive been searching on the internet to see what type of spider it is and if i should be worried, but i couldnt find any.

i thought it was a fishing spider becus it kind looked like it but thers no ponds or lakes close to where i live (in NEW MEXICO). and im also wondering if its a wolf spider but im still not sure.

also im wondering if i have like a spider infestation or like a spider problem in my house.

so ya, if anyone can give me some clues or answers thatll be great!

  1. It's not going to be a brown recluse at that size, or inside your bathroom--and most likely not in New Mexico, either.  It's either a common house spider or a garden spider that has come indoors to find a place to spin her egg sack away from the weather. Just trap it, send it back outside and forget it.

You don't have an Infestation or a problem. You have a normal number of spiders. They are very very common in the house at this time of year--because they are looking to find a place to lay eggs and hide the egg sac. Just brush it outdoors. If you are worried, spray some repellent around your window frame.

  2. I have done some research of my own and Christin K is wrong.  A recluse can be the size of a penny or a quarter depending on what area of the country it came from.  Recluses CAN be anywhere because they tend to like boxes.  So they can hitch a ride anywhere in a delivery carton.  According to the map in the link provided in the resources section, New Mexico is not entirely clear of recluses.

However, you are probably dealing with a house spider.  They usually are not aggressive, but they can make you sick if they bite you.  I know.  One crawled into my prosthetic leg (probably while I was sleeping) and bit me quite a few times just last week.  I felt awful for days and I'm just getting over the pain now.

  3. get some spider traps at the hardware store or online.  Put them around the room walls where you have seen spiders.  I think you should try to get rid of these otherwise more baby spiders will be born in your house and the problem would be worse.

I also use hot-shot spider spray, a pesticide.

There is a spray, spider repel, if you want something from natural ingredients-- doesn't kill, repels.

this does sound like a wolf spider to me.  If so, they are considered harmless(not poisonous), but pretty big and fast to be having run around in your house.

  4. spiders can be great because they kill off all the other crazy bugs in the hous
