Okay so I've noticed that I kill spiders about 3 times a week. They're kind of brown-ish, I don't know what they're called, but do you think I might have an infestation? If so what should I do to get rid of them?Should i try fumigation, but what kind of bug killer? Also I am terribly afraid of spiders and I think that the spiders in my house are brown recluse and I've heard that they're bites are infectious.

So what should i do to get rid of them?!?!?!

  1. i understand that your afraid of spiders but let me tell you they actually help you.

yes thats right , they kill house flys for you and ants.

what i do is i take a news paper or something and i swoop it up and i put it outside.

and this spider that your speaking of is problally a daddy long leg.

they dont bite i actually have a lot of them in my house but i just let them be sometimes.

and i you want u can call pest controll if you dont like them in your house.

  2. If you find in the open bright light they are probably not brown recluse(check the definition of recluse).

Spiders can be your friends if there is nothing for them to eat they will not survive.

Get rid of what they are feeding on.

  3. Brown Recluse spiders are just like their name "recluse" you won't see them in the open just running around your house, they will be in dark usually damp places like under houses or in rubbish piles of wood.  Most likely what you have is a common house spider or a wolf spider.  You can use an over the counter spray such as raid but it will only kill the ones that you actually spray with it.  The best thing to do is to have a pest control company come out and spray your house inside and out.  Most chemicals are non toxic to mammals (at least the ones we use) and will not harm children or pets.  With it being the end of summer, I wouldn't sign a contract with a pest control company, probably a one time spray should do it if they do a good job.  Hope this helps and good luck.

Note: Brown recluse spiders are actually cream colored with a brown violin shape on their backs.

  4. Man i hate spiders! SQUISH 'EM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. You almost definitely DO NOT have an infestation of brown recluse! They look like common brown house spiders which is what you most likely have!

The spider is called a recluse for a reason! They occur mainly in the southern US and live under rocks, in wood piles and in very small crevices in warm attics. It is very unlikely that you would see one just running around the walls. They don't like people.

Despite their reclusive habits, they do occasionally bite humans. Ways to reduce bite risk from recluse spiders include: 1) keep beds away from walls; remove bed skirts and items under the bed so that the only pathway to the bed is up the legs. 2) Keep clothing off the floor; if it is on the floor, shake it vigorously before dressing. 3) Store all intermittently used items such as gardening clothing, baseball mitts or roller skates in spider-proof boxes or bags.

The thing I suggest to get rid of them is a spray "bomb" to fumigate the house. Raid makes ones that will kill spiders, just check out the label and follow the directions! Also if you have no pets or small children in your house boric acid is a good thing to kill all pests just sprinkle it along your floor boards into any cracks, behind your sinks and any other place likely to have bugs and spiders. Boric acid will work for months but is pretty potent stuff.

  6. Call pest control? Call local council?
