  1. you have to snap your wrist, focus on that,

whenever you hit against the wall to warm up your arms in practice, and before the game starts, flick your wrist like hardcore when you hit the ball, you know what I mean?

  2. I'm a hitter to for volleyball a left hitter. so if your not a left this might not be that good of tips. but to keep my ball from going out is that i have to start out of bounds and then run in an turn doing my approach...You also might have to wait for the set to be at the highest point, theres a girl on my team that is a really good hitter but always goes out of bounds in the back cuz she doesn't wait of the set.

  3. A girl on my volleyball team has the exact same problem.  But what she doesn't do is flick her wrist as she swings.  The few times she does, they are very good hits.  So remember to flick your wrist and swing your arm both, not one or the other.  Good luck! :D

  4. The biggest mistake players make is jumping in a location that is wrong - ALWAYS STAY BEHIND THE BALL TRAJECTORY PLAN SO YOU MAKE CONTACT WITH THE BALL A LITTLE BIT IN FRONT OF YOUR BODY.  Please let me know if it helped.

  5. I have this problem..but its helped to practice with a tennis ball or small ball. Throw it over the net like a volleyball and snap your wrist. Hope this helps! it helped me!

  6. I love it when people tell you to snap the wrist at the moment of contact.  During that fraction of a second, you have to concentrate on snapping your wrist.

I will tell you to leave your wrist firm, but not rigid.

Work on your approach without hitting the ball.  You can do this at home.  Mark off a 10 foot line and do your approach.  Get back to your ready position as fast as you can.  Do your approach.  Do 10 approaches.  Take 1 minute off.  Do 10 approaches.  And so on.  Do at least 100 approaches.

Get a volleyball and hit the ball against the wall.  Do not do like everyone does and just keep hitting the ball wherever and whatever height it is.  If the ball is high and in front of your shoulder, hit it.  If it is not, catch it and toss it so that you are practicing good hits and not bad hits.

As suggested above, do your approach and throw a tennis ball.  Keep doing this drill.

Now, try doing all of this together with a volleyball.  If you are hitting the ball long, the contact point is too far back in your body line.  If the ball is going out on the left side, the contact point is too far to your left.  If the ball is going out to the right, your contact point is too far to the right.

Keep practicing and you will do well.

  7. make sure your shoulders are facing in bounds. cuz if there facing in the other way. its gonna go that way. if its going out of bounds like the back line then try not hitting it so hard.

  8. hit harder...snap ur wrist for topspin...that's very key!

    good luck

  9. As most of the answers have stated, always remember to flip your wrist. Also you need to make sure have a quick arm swing and that you follow through with your swinging arm and hit on top of the ball.

Also make sure that you are squared up to the center of the court. Remember to hit the ball at the height of you jump, not on the way down.

    Practice, Practice, Practice

  10. A girl on my team has the same problem. She is one of our best middle hitters, but she sometimes puts too much power on the ball and it goes out. Try to snap your wrist when you hit, this will make the ball go more downwards instead of out. And don't forget to do your approach and jump!

  11. Snap your wrist when you hit the ball.

  12. jump high aim down, say that in your head every time you approach. if that doesn't work , concentrate on snapping your wrist!!!

  13. We do exercises where you hold the ball in one hand and then snap your wrist down(do this against a wall) if you do it r ight the balll should hit the wall and bounce babck to you also practice your jumping without the ball up on the net. Good luck and i hoped i helped!

  14. just do ur approaching everrytime even without a ball..
