Question:

Spilt red wine on my carpet?

last night its dark beige some as come out but my boyfriend used a washing pad the one with the green pad on top yes he used that side so got a dark stain from the to together. how can i get this out. heard bicarbonate of soda works how do i do it please .

White wine gets rid of the prob before it dries.

pour loads of salt over it. then get hot soapy water and scrub. vodka can also sometimes remove it

Try vanish soap , and make sure to dab it rather than rub it as you will only spread the stain , some say use white wine but i think that is only for when its wet

Pour white wine over the red wine. Lifts it out.

Then get wood floor!! So much easier to keep clean :-)

Don't scrub, it's really bad for the rug, just lift up the stain by blotting and a lot of flushing with the agents they list...

Carpet stain remover from a diy store, or buy from a carpet retailer. The solvent based ones are the best. Please read the directions on the back of the tin with the solvent based ones. They can damage the carpet if applied incorrectly, so its a light dabbing motion, as I say read the back of the tin. It might not remove the stain 100%, but it will be 100 times better than it is now, it will take a good eye to notice it after the clean. My girlfriend dropped a glass of red a month ago and I used it, removing 98% of the stain on a white carpet, with your dark beige carpet it should remove it completely, if its a good quality carpet, even better. It definately works but if you've got a bit of the old carpet to apply the solvent it would be best, because no colour dye diffusion will occur, or alternativly use a clean dry white cloth.

awe nip in to the supermarket and buy vanish oxi clean pink tub!and mix with some hot water you only need a scoop pour on stain and it will take it out great for clothes and whites so it wont be wasted dry carpet with towel and hoover next day good as new trust me as I have done it take care
