Spilt water on my apple laptop; Cost of repair and/or how to fix it.?

I spilled water on my apple laptop, and it works perfectly fine, except, ow it says there is no airport card inserted, so my internet does not work! Its really terrible, since most of what I do is on the laptop, and its also slightly sentimental, but no one will help me pay for repair if it costs more than the computer or something around it. Any ideas?

Liquids and laptops don't mix.  I did the same thing with orange juice once.  Laptop was a total loss.  th

You should have turned it off right away, as leaving it one while wet caused hardware damage, which can be a costly thing and from what I've seen apples are not cheap.

well the wifi card is under the keyboard. see if you can take the keyboard off and remove the card and let it dry out. sometimes thats all it takes.

Which laptop is it, MacBook, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iBook g4, g3 or a Powerbook G4?

Each one has a different structure, and different locations for the internal parts.

Truthfully you should have left it off until a tech had a chance to look at it, by turning it back on you may have damaged it further.

Let me know which laptop you have & then we can see about fixing it.

EDIT: bummer, unfortunately water damage voids the warranty so you're stuck either fixing it yourself or taking it to a third party...

If you want to try to do it yourself here's a link to the take apart procedures, choose the MBPro that you have from the list and read over the procedure, if you feel you're up to it, p/u a replacement airport extreme and any tools they list that you don't have.

The problem here is that it may not be just the card that's screwed up. You'd be better off taking it to a certified tech. it'll cost a bit more, but at least you'll get it fixed quickly.
