Spinning Ridge likely to shine in Betfred "Double Delight" Classified Claiming Stakes at Lingfield
After a decent performance at Wolverhampton, Spinning Ridge is all set to perform well in the Betfred "Double Delight" Classified Claiming Stakes, being held at Lingfield on Wednesday, May 16th.
The class 6 event has attracted more than half a dozen entries. There are many powerful runners in the line-up, but Spinning Ridge seems to be in good position to do something special.
After registering a comprehensive win at Kempton, the 7-year-old could not continue his good work, when ran at Wolverhampton on April 12. Despite a disappointing outcome, Ronald Harris’ trainee did not lose his confidence and
performed magnificently the following day.
The 32Red Casino Claiming Stakes saw him finishing second on the chart. Under Darren Edward Egan, the 2-1 favourite did well, but remained a bit unlucky. As a result, he missed the crown by a few lengths.
The maverick gelding has recorded 10 wins so far in his career and today’s race is an ideal chance for him to add another to his tally. Among his rivals are: Aquilifer, Legal Legacy, On The Cusp, Hinton Admiral, Marvo, Edgewater
and Musashi.
According to the program, the 1-mile event will be kicked off at 13:50 GMT. The ultimate champion will walk away with a purse worth £1,704.
Aquilifer is being considered as the biggest threat to Spinning Ridge. The four-year-old was not impressive in his last two appearances at Lingfield. However, the punters do not need much of a memory to recall his last success
at this venue.
In November last year, Mrs K Burke’s trainee sealed a convincing triumph in the Christmas Parties At Lingfield Park Handicap. Although victories are not coming to his way these days, his experience and class are hard to ignore.
Legal Legacy is also out of rhythm these days. At the start of this month, the six-year-old finished fifth in the 32Red Casino Handicap at Southwell.
According to our calculations, Aquilifer is the biggest threat to Spinning Ridge. If he performs to his level best, he will be able to notch up the top spot. Otherwise, Spinning Ridge has an obvious chance of bagging the winning
prize comfortably. Best of luck to everyone.
