Spinning Waters expected to prevail in 32Red Casino Handicap
Spinning Waters is tipped to prevail in the 32Red Casino Handicap at Ffos Las in England on Monday, July 2, 2012. A cash prize of £1,617 has been set for the winner of the class-6 race.
Stamina will play a key role in determining the winner of the 2 mile event, which will start at 19:25 GMT, and has attracted nine runners. Most of the participants have been struggling for consistency over the past few months, which will make it difficult for the punters to choose their favourite.
However, Spinning Waters has got plenty of experience, and will like the conditions at Ffos Las. He has been given a general starting price of 12 to 1 today, which shows that the bookies do not consider him as one of the top favourites for victory today.
The six-year-old gelding made his debut in 2008 and was impressive at debut, finishing third in it. He was one of the least favourites to shine back then, but proved everyone wrong in the end and gave a tough time to the front runners.
Despite getting off to a decent start in his career, Dai Burchell’s trainee failed to continue the momentum in his next two events of the 2008 season. He came back strongly next year though, winning his first race of the next season.
Spinning Waters had to fight hard for that victory, as there were some fierce competitors against him back then. He outperformed all of them and gave some decent performances that year.
Vettori’s son out of Secret Waters was unable to make a significant impression in 2010, but his performances were still satisfactory, as he secured the top three positions on quite a few events.
The 2011 season proved to be the best for the seasoned gelding, as he won three races that year. His most recent victory came at Chepstow in March, 2012. He displayed good stamina back then and his fans will be expecting a similar run from him today.
Spinning Waters will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Simon Pearce, at Ffos Las. He has got a lot of experience, but has not been one of the most consistent riders at present, which is not a good sign.
