Spiritual Guide?

i wanted to communicate with my spiritual guide and it worked! i did this through automatic writing. i learned that aw can be very dangerous and i was seeking other safer ways to communicate with my spiritual guide. im afraid to do this just meditating, simply because i might forget what i was told after i come back. does anyone know of any other good ways?

i didnt feel scared at all. and i prayed to god to protect me with a bright white light and to send an angel to watch over me.

basically i want to know a safer way to do this. please and thank you

There's much debate out there regarding these entities, its really hard to know what's out there and what you may be inviting.

I personally tried it once.  I asked my guide(s) to come to me in my dreams.  When I woke, (this was a lucid dream) I saw one presence and felt another.  I felt one was good and the other, I'm not so sure about.  It made me nervous, that I wasn't sure about this other entity that I felt.  I wasn't really scared, but I haven't done it again.  I think I may have invited "something"  that I didn't want.  Until, I feel that I am more informed or safer doing this sort of thing, I'm not doing it again.

BTW, I also firmly believe in God.

God's way is NOT through "spiritual guides" which are, in fact, demonic entities who present themselves as good angelic beings and are anything but!  The Bible even warns abouts this type of communication and who is really behind it (it isn't God!)

If you want to know the truth about yourself and why you are here, go to a Bible believing church...hook up with REAL Christians (meaning people who are mature and have been abiding in Jesus Christ a long time.)  

You are on very dangerous ground, and I truly hope you take this message as seriously as possible.

To tell's answer is simple fear mongering.  It's not her fault.  She doesn't know any better.  Of course you're a real Christian.  Real Christians believe in the word of our Lord, Jesus Christ.  It was him who was infused with God's knowledge and spent many years in India studying Hindu beliefs and practices such as reincarnation and meditation.  It was him who encouraged us to learn, grow and feed our soul freely.  Your spirit guide is a very real comrade and has been with you since you first embarked on your journey.  I'm not sure how you can communicate with him, as I have only communicated with mine through lucid dreams.  I do commend you for exploring all levels of your spirituality. Did you know you can ask your spirit guide to convene on your behalf?  You can also ask that your guide communicate with another guide in order to infuse a message to someone.

This doesn't take away from our belief in the divinity of God.  We are simply acknowledging the very real spirit world around us.  Even if there is such a thing as the devil's work, the white light of the Holy Spirit protects you.  Good always prevails.

Meditation is the safest way I have heard of doing it because the other ways envolve magic and magic always comes with a price.

Experience is the only true validator.  Don't let fundamentalists persuade you if they haven't had an experience like yours.  Some people need the comfort of strict dogma, and that's fine.  But there's one type of knowledge they cannot gain if you just quote Bible verses or catechisms: wisdom.  That can only come through experience.

I'm gonna disagree with the first answerer....  It is always a bad approach to say "God doesn't work in this way".  Experience has shown me that God, the Divine, the Universe, whatever identification you choose to see God as....  It does seem to "work in mysterious ways."

However, I am also gonna warn you not to get too attached to your own preconceived ideas of what you are "feeling/perceiving" from any guide.  Imagine that element as you will....  Guide, Higher Self, subconscious, etc.  You must always look at the message for what it means and what influence it has in your life.  

As for ways of communicating with that aspect of yourself....  For basic yes/no/I don't know/I can't say answers....  You can try the pendulum method.
