Spiritual message about Gustav and RNC?

Though this has been a MAJOR hurricane, no doubt, Gustav has seemed to worry the Republicans enough to change their agenda for the RNC. Is there a spiritual message (I think so) around this...if so, what?

If there is a spiritual message..I'd guess...that the evil one will use anything to stop the  light of Our Lord from shining through...to stop America from keeping her moral and Democratic values.Yet, the evil one isn't greater than God, so He will use it for good and test what the Republicans are made of and show that they should be in control of this great nation.

Actually it's not a major hurricane.  It needs to be Category 3 or higher to be a major hurricane, and Gustav is only Category 2.

The spiritual message is that we should be taking care of the garden like God told us to. Scientific study after study has proven if we take care of the earth the earth will take care of us. We need to replenish barrier islands and try to undo all the damage that has been done to our beaches now, so future hurricanes won't hurt us as badly.

No spiritual message but it was considerate of them to allow the plight of those affected by Gustav to be the center of attention.

Probably not spiritual.  I just think the Republicans are afraid of another comparison with Katrina.  The Republican-controlled government looked like a bunch of idiots back then.  They don't dare have a repeat during the election; the convention will only draw more connections between the two.

No, I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say this but, Hurricanes are a natural occurrence nothing spiritual.

There is nothing spiritual or religious about why the RNC has scaled back it's convention due to Gustav coming ashore near to New Orleans.

Rather, its all about Katrina political blowback. The RNC knows that their President was a major moron when it came to dealing with Katrina, and they're well aware that they would look like major morons NOW, deep into the election run, if they were partying while New Orleans drowned on their watch AGAIN.

Read Douglas Brinkley's book on Katrina, he is a major author and historian, and in it, he highlighted a black 11 year old boy who hotwired a bus to move some stranded people and stated that that *child did more to help the people of New Orleans than did G W Bush*.

The RNC knows that if they look like that *again, and now*, their hopes in November will be ashes.
