  1. Do birds suddenly appear every time your near?

  2. It is an important adage from the Emerald Tablet--a scripture of Hermeticism, which was a spiritual philosophy at the turn of the first millennium (the same time that Christianity and Neoplatonism was developing)

It means that the human being is a reflection and is connected to the universe and also the earth is a reflection of heaven (or ideally should be). The spiritual goal is to realize this.  It also  thought to be symbolic language about the alchemical process--both in regards to laboratory alchemy and philosophical alchemy which was a spiritual discipline related to medieval Hermeticism (which was reconstructed from the more ancient form of Hermeticism).

    The Emerald Tablet:

    0) When I entered into the cave, I received the tablet zaradi, which was inscribed, from between the hands of Hermes, in which I discovered these words:

    1) True, without falsehood, certain, most certain.

    2) What is above is like what is below, and what is below is like that which is above. To make the miracle of the one thing.

    3) And as all things were made from contemplation of one, so all things were born from one adaptation.

    4) Its father is the Sun, its mother is the Moon.

    5) The wind carried it in its womb, the earth breast fed it.

    6) It is the father of all ‘works of wonder' (Telesmi) in the world.

6a) Its power is complete (integra).

    7) If cast to (turned towards- versa fuerit) earth,

7a) it will separate earth from fire, the subtile from the gross.

    8) With great capacity it ascends from earth to heaven. Again it descends to earth, and takes back the power of the above and the below.

    9) Thus you will receive the glory of the distinctiveness of the world. All obscurity will flee from you.

    10) This is the whole most strong strength of all strength, for it overcomes all subtle things, and penetrates all solid things.

11a) Thus was the world created.

    12) From this comes marvelous adaptions of which this is the proceedure.

    13) Therefore I am called Hermes, because I have three parts of the wisdom of the whole world.

    14) And complete is what I had to say about the work of the Sun, from the book of Galieni Alfachimi.

In many ways what is going on with us Spiritually, mentally, & physically reflects in our outer world. My Teacher used to say if you want to know what your head is like take a look at the condition of our house. This is a simplistic personal level explanation but it has much greater meaning & has it's roots in the Hermetic Traditions & is taught in many of the Mystery Schools. As above, so below; as within so without is a body of teaching that refers to the idea that within the microcosm is found all that is also contained within the macrocosm. In many ways the Holographic theory of the universe is similar.

    Blessings!

  6. I think it means the outside will match the inside. Your attitude manifests in your life. I agree with that. If you are happy with what you've got, you are already wealthy. If you have everything and are still sulky and miserable, you're poor.

  7. A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord

    one day and said,

Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and h**l are

    like."

T he Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened

    one of the doors

    and

the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was

    a large round table.

In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew

which smelled  delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and

sickly. T hey appeared  to be famished. T hey were holding spoons with very long handles that were

strapped to their arms and each found it ipossible to  reach into the pot of  stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was  longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their  mouths.

T he holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

The Lord said, "You have seen h**l."

T hey went to the next room and opened the door. It  was exactly the same  as the first one. T here was the large round table  with the large pot of  stew which made the holy man's mouth water. T he  people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking.

The holy man said, "I don't understand."

It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill.

You see,  they  have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of  themselves."

  8. There   will  come   a  time   wheN   the  will  of  GOD   WILL   BE  DONE  HERE  ON  EARTH  AS  IT  IS  IN  HEAVEN.At    this  time  does  freewill   separate  man   from   GOD.That   isn't  what  GOD    intended  it  is  what  men  wanted.We  have  grace  and  GOD  is  long  suffering  and  would  that  none  parish.Yet   for  all  the  love  of   JESUS    still   many  just  plain  reject  that. Therefore  at  sometime   this  must  be  overturned. When   JESUS    returns  he  sets  up  an  righteous  kingdom    yet   he  is  going  to  have  to  rule  it  for  awhile  with  a  rod  of  iron. This  because  some  people  just  don't  want  to   live  in  peace  and  harmony  in  equality  and  the  like.    THANK  YOU  D'S

  9. Who you truely are is not what is on the outside but the on the inside. If you project your inner self the outer self will reflect it.

I look at it as a reese's cup. Is it the chocolate on the outside that makes it a Reeses cup, the outer shape? No, the thing that makes it one is the filling, the creamy peanut butter. Look at a mallow cup next to a Reeses cup, they look similar but what is inside is totally different. To find out which is which you will have to "open up" and view what is inside. But if you take them by their wrapper and believe that the wrapper for the Reeses cup describes the Reeses cup and the Mallow cup wrapper describes the mallow cup, but open them up and find the Reeses is in the Mallow and vice versa, are you dissappointed in what you find or inspired to investigate further?

To know the true person you must look inside rather than the outside. If you want people to see who you are you must be who you are on the inside and let it project to the the outer you.

  10. Whats in your heart will come out of your mouth and  will show in your actions............  Junk in, junk out.

    The Word....peace, love, etc

The world(Carnal sins).....heartache, bitterness, Anger, defensiveness, sexual addictions etc

  11. jDefinitely: That is a fundamental truth... 'As above,so below' Hermetic wisdom.

  12. Yes, a Hermetic Axiom - As above so below, as below so above.

This says that what we see here on earth is mirrored above. You can extrapolate interpretation in many ways. Microcosm is the same as macrocosm. A favorite bit of poetry that I believe speaks to the axiom is William Blake's Auguries of Innocence:

"To see a world in a grain of sand

And a heaven in a wild flower

Hold infinity in the palm of your hand

    And eternity in an hour."
