Do you think that when someone decides to thumbs down all the answers to a question, or even one, that they should give an explanation as to why? Does it not seem cowardly or unmoral to hide behind the fact that no one knows what your doing?

  1. this site really isn't set up for that kind of feedback.

i do it to the questions i ask to help sort the bad answers from the good.  it's an interesting question though.  i've always wondered why people get a kick out of acting rudely just because their profile is anonymous.

  2. TDs are meaningless...they're little popularity contests...you could get 15 TDs for an answer on a question one day, and the next you'll answer a similar question with a similar answer and get 15 thumbs up...

  3. Well, it's not me. I'm usually deleted before i reach level two.

  4. i wouldnt care if it marked me as the person who thumbs down

  5. I think it would be nice to be able to explain why they got the thumbs down.  And I think you should get points for thumbs up.  Just me.

  6. Spiritually answering: When I give an answer which I assume may get me a few thumbs down from the disagreeing public here, I thank them ahead of time for the thumbs down and let them know what I am using the thumbs down for: examples: 1. Re-carpeting my house.,

    2. Making quilts.

    3. Oops, I ran out of toilet cleanser and am now using their thumbs down to clean the toilet.

Sometimes, you just need to be creative with those who like to do thumbs down on people.

If I see it happening, I usually do my best to counter-act their thumbs down & give everyone a thumbs up.

  7. I'm not afraid to say it, I thumb down people who give stupid answers. For instance "The earth is flat." or "Evolution ISN'T a fact, it's only a theory!" are examples of things I would thumb down.

  8. It happens every now and then, and not just in R&S.  My husband spends a lot of time in photography and he sees the same thing there from time to time. Just some idiot thinking he's hot shlt, gonna thumbs-down everyone. As if it really means anything.

  9. In a way i think it should be an explanation but then it really do not matter because it is only an opion.  Some people give a thumbs down  just to be mean while others might do it because they just do not agree.  Maybe yahoo answers have it set up to not know who is giving thumbs down to keep people from sending nasty e-mails or making unkind remarks when a person gives a thumbs down to a person.

  10. rofl You're talking about starting world war 3 on r and s.

  11. I wouldn't mind being able to say why, or having it be known that I've done it.  I always feel I have a very good reason whenever I do.

  12. I really don't know. I only give a thumbs down when someone is being disrespectful....regardless of who gives the answer. I believe that people have the right to disagree with me or my faith but not to be disrespectful.

  13. I am  sure  if they had  to give an explanation less would  do  it the same as if  it showed  who had  given them  they would  fear retribution.

  14. Spiritually speaking yes you are wasting your points but thanks for giving some to me .

  15. hey good idea!  i don't thumbs down very often but i want them to know why

  16. People give thumbs down to answers they disagree with.

  17. Around here, it works more to show how many from which side read your question.

  18. Yahoo doesn't want the screen cluttered with text, that's why there's no explanation option. If you REALLY wanna leave your explanation, you can do that in the comments section.

It is not cowardly or immoral (unmoral's not a word) to not leave an explanation for thumbs down. It's too time-consuming.

Typical ignorant Christian, too stupid to spell "immoral" right. And you're whining because everybody thumbs down your stupid religious answers.  You suck.

  19. They are trying to show their feelings - isn't religion all about feelings
