  1. Liberals is getting to be a dirty word in many places, not just the USA.

I think the crux of the problem is political and financial. Liberals want people to fund things that most people either does not want funded or wants people to open up to things that most people don't want opened up.

For example liberals in some countries want people to fund for plastic surgeries that are purely cosmetic in nature and gender allocation surgeries, something most people do not agree should be done or do not see the necessity as to why it needs to be done.

  2. I'm wondering if you have asked this in politics ^^ Should be quite thorough answers there! Look, I'm an atheist and a conservative. Sounds like an abnormality but we're more common than you may think.

I listen to many conservative radio and watch conservative tv, plus my own observations. Liberalism is a bad word because it has been equaled to socialism and communism. This is not always the case, and I acknowledge that. The people who consider it bad (like me generally) is because self-proclaimed liberals usually support government interference in most, if not every aspect of life.

Liberals generally go for higher taxes thus forcing people to support government sponsored funding the citizen may not want to. Liberalism doesn't go hand in hand with freedom that way. Sorry for my bias ^^ I hope you can see past it in what I wrote.

  3. The term "Liberal" means you give a liberal interpretation to the Bible or the US Constitution.

Conservatives say that the US Constitution and the Bible, say what they mean and mean what they say.

Conservatives don't read between the lines what is not there.

Liberals read whatever they want to, between the lines.

These terms were in common usage as long as I can remember and I'm a Grandpa.

  4. Hype is the biggest industry in the USA. Those with the biggest budget sway the thinking of the population. It has nothing to do with truth.

And to answer your question there is nothing wrong with believing in anything that you feel is right for you.

Remember, the word g*y used to mean happy. Now, that term has been hijacked and twisted to hurt people.

  5. "Liberal" has become a bad word because blow-hard neocons like Limbaugh have repeated it over and over.

A good way to get people to think like you (especially if they're not too bright about thinking for themselves) is to repeat something like a nursery rhyme.

Liberal and Conservative depend on whether you are speaking socially, legally, or fiscally.   Honestly, the way GWB has annihilated the constitution during his presidency, HE is the one who should be called liberal.  There was no 'conserving' of the constitution going on there.

I consider myself to be about as liberal as you can get, and I don't like government interference at all.  In fact, I wish Uncle Sam would get his nose out of my business entirely.

Republicans think 'Liberal' is a catch-all name for anyone who disagrees with Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly.

  6. Liberals want to get into everyone pocket.  Charity should be a choice and not forced.

  7. I remember it being used this way in the 70's. But more so in the eighties.

I am a moderate, but I have some conservative views, and a couple of views that might be deemed "liberal," But mostly I am just a moderate!
