Split Mechanical Seals?

I have a gear box mounted on a large shaft that is stuck in place. The lower seal has failed. I'm trying to determine if there are companies who manufacture a split seal that could be put onto the shaft and into the gearbox without removing it from the shaft.

There are many companies manufacturing split mechanical seals.  The question is really going to be do they have one of the proper diameter and configuration to fit your gear box, followed by how long will it take to get it and what will it cost.

Actually, we purchase the spare parts form the retailers shops.

Just bring the old seal along with you and show it to the seller, and ask him to give you a " standard part" according to the standard your country work with.

Just show him the old part and he will serve you best.
