I remember the recruiter saying that if you go through the split option program you will almost always go to one of two bases for Basic, does anyone know which two he was talking about? Maybe Sill and Benning?

  1. it depends on your MOS.  your job title

  2. That is not entirely true.  I have known many people who have done the split option training program at Fort Leonardwood, Fort Jackson, and Fort Benning.  As for the other two, I do not know.

I do know that for female recruits, they only have the option of going to Fort Jackson, or Fort Leonardwood as they are the only two that accept females.

  3. Both of the above offer Split Op training.  I know that there are other posts that do it as well.  It sort of matters what your MOS is, if you are infantry you will go to Fort Benning.  I personally don't like split-ops, they are generally more inmature and they lose alot of training value or changes during their senior year of high school.  When they come back for the second portion, we are generally trying to get them back in shape, trying to get their military bearing and discipline back and by the time it happens, they have graduated and they haven't really learned nothing because they are having to relearn everything from the first year.
