Will Phillips dvp 3166 dvd player be affected in a bad way (as in get spoilt) If I split coaxial Audio from dvd player to my T.V and 4.1 Surround speakers .The 4.1 surround speakers are 12 years old and require a left and right connection into (input) the subwoofer and the other speakers are then (output) connected to the subwoofer.I basiacally want my T.V and 4.1 to be connected simultaniously to the DVD players audio.

  1. Splitting a cable carrying signal output from the DVD player can't hurt the player.

The DVD player probably has 2 digital outputs, coaxial and toslink. Use those. If your subwoofer needs left and right, that's not digital anyway so you have no choice but to use the analog output.
