Splits, can you do them?

Did it take very long for you to be able to do them?

  1. yes i can do them and no it didn't take long because i'm naturally flexible.  but most people have trouble with them because they don't work on them everyday which is what you have to do.


  2. yeah I'm a dancer and it took me about a whole summer to get them. I would just sit in a straddle every night and watch TV, then i would do my splits on each side. even if you feel like you're miles away from the floor when your in your split don't give up. every bit of stretching counts. just do this faithfully and you will see them getting further and further down each night. good luck =]]

  3. i can't but my daughter can.  She would lie on the ground with her bum against the wall and just  let her legs drop from gravity.  It took her about six months of streching to get them both ways.  good luck

  4. Hellz yea! It didn't take really long to do them, but if you want to improve or perfect a split it takes practice...stretching the legs occasionally....

  5. well i have been stretching and stretching because im learning to do the splits and so i was soooo happy when i finally did them last night and it only took me like a little over a week but i stretched for about 30 minutes to an hour  every night you will be really sore but its worth it :D

    but the balletic way to be really good at your split i too spread

    your leg out as wide as you can and get against a wall

    another way my ballet teacher told us was when you get out

    of the tub keep trying to do the split while your muscles are

    warm

  9. I can only do my right split for now but my left is coming closer! It really didn't take me that long to get it. All you have to do is stretch and stretch and stretch!

  12. it takes a lot of conditioning, but it's not very difficult. They have something that martial artists use that goes in between your legs and helps push them apart. The easiest way to do it would be every day for a few minutes get into the position and stay there. Do that for a while and keep pushing yourself(not to the point of breaking anything ; ) until you can do them

  13. no. if you stretch for 30min a day or every two days i would give it a bout a week or so. you should be holding both ur left and right splits for about 10-15 seconds counting 1 one thousand.

    just stretch right after u get up in the morning and right before you go to bed for at least 10 minutes.

    plus sometimes during the day.

  15. No, I'm a dancer so I'm really want to get them down. I have started stretching more so maybe I can get them down soon and every dance class our teacher makes us hold them for 20 counts
