Question:

Splitting 110V into 12V switch then into wall outlet?

I am trying to combine a 110V lamp, a 12V Horn, and a 12V led panel. I want to run each through their own 12V switches and then into the wall outlet. It this possible or what do I need to make it work? I have looked at some inverters and converters but am not sure what I need. Any idea how to do this?

  1. Yes -- but you may injure yourself.

  2. Very simple. Buy a wall transformer that plugs into the AC outlet and delivers 12VDC. You can use a standard AC switch to control each device.

  3. You are talking about going from a 110v AC to 12v dc?

Lamp to converter to 12v loads.

What type of power are you starting with?

12v dc use inverter for lamp

ac? use converter for dc load.

If all is ac then grab a transformer (it must be 110 to 12 and rated at least a 75)

  4. well first run the light off the 110 volts then you will need transformers to step down the voltage to 12 volts be careful though. I used to do that kind of stuff in shop class. Is that what it is for?

  5. not a good idea.you would buy expensive step down from 220v to a transformer, also u want 110v and 12v so it would be messy bulky wiring.

I would re look at buying a product that runs off 220v
