Splitting an mpg in iMovie and exporting it?

I have a video in mpg format that I want to upload to YouTube. The problem is, it's 14 minutes long, and I have to split it into two parts. I have iMovie and see the split function there, but I can't figure out how to export them as two separate video files. Maybe iMovie can't do this, but is there another program that can? I've downloaded two demos, but they limit the time to either 3 or 5 minutes. Since I need to use this once, I'm looking for something either free or a demo that lets you do up to 15 min.
