  1. The spoilers are tied in with the ailerons. These spoilers are called flight spoilers. Ex. When making a left bank turn , the right aileron goes down the left goes up and at a certain degree of column movement the left spoiler will come up to help in turning.


  2. Spoliers can work asymmetrically. This allows airplanes at high airspeeds to bank and turn without an excess of drag that would otherwise be created by ailerons doing the same thing.
