IF you send a sponsor request to a company, how long does it take them to respond?

If they dont want to sponsor you, will they tell you?

How good do you have to be to get sponsored?

WHat do you get if you are sponsored?

-for snowboarding

  1. You have to send in a video to get sponsored.  They won't sponsor you just because you ask.

How good you have to be depends on the company and the level you want to be sponsored.  Global teams for big companies like Burton and Forum you have to be d**n good, like winning X-games and making films with Standard and MDP good.  For local shops where you just get hooked up with free stuff, you just have to be one of the best at your home resort.

The best way to get sponsored is to get to know people in the industry.  Get to know local shops, and ride with local reps.  Enter and place in local comps.  Make a video showing what you can do.

Guys have to be really really good to expect to make a living off snowboarding.  Most "sponsored" riders just get hooked up with some free stuff.

If you want to know what it takes to make a comfortable living snowboarding for a living, check out the X-games, MDP's films, Standard's films, forum's That, Absinthe films.  You have to be on level with those guys to make a good living.

To make "just enough" you still have to be really really good.

EDIT: even if you go through an agent, which is what sponsorhouse would be acting as, you still have to be as good as I said to get sponsored.  The company still has to find you worth sponsoring.    And you will still have to send them a video and contest results.  Sorry, no free rides in this world.  What I said still applies.
