Sponsoring a child...?

Question

I have started sponsoring a child in Uganda. I sent her a package of things a couple of weeks ago - I was wondering when I might receive a reply?

Also, can anyone who does sponsor a child give me any ideas of things to send out to her - in this package I sent pictures, pencils, hair clips - but I want to send her something special for her birthday soon. She will be 6.

AN ABC book or nice story book...a nice doll....or a nice outfit.

When I was sponsoring my child (via World Vision), I could only send things that would fit in an envelope, which is limiting.  Stickers, kids love stickers, pictures of you and your family, books?  maybe a little necklace?
