I have a 1997 GSXR 600 and i just replaced my front sprocket and now i have lost all power in my clutch and my gears rattle when engaged. The clutch is completely gone and i am now stuck. Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.

  1. Maybe an over-simplified answer, but be sure to look carefully at the new sprocket to see that the splines are lined up properly with the primary shaft coming out of the engine and that the screws are tight on the sprocket.

If the splines are matching and the sprocket is tight and there is still no power to the chain/rear wheel, I would have to ask if you have done anything else to the engine besides replace the primary drive sprocket. e.g. Did you drain the oil, and not refill it? Did you remove the clutch basket, and not replace the plates in their proper sequence? Ask a friend or a mechanic to look at it.

    Good luck, friend.

  2. also make sure that the sprocket is not on backwards but it sounds like you have a broken clutch disk

  3. Replace the clutch plates. When you pull it apart, you'll see what needs replacement.
