  1. I've start on a R1 my self, but would never recommend any1 2 do so cuz i've never learned my limits because of my fear of dropping it. I did manage to drop it going 1 mph (i was trying 2 turn around on a steep street) it cost me $900 to replace the scratched plastics. My friend owned a brand new cbr600 dropped it going 40 mph. Paid $500 for the bike repairs. That alone should tell you a story. A 250 is nothing short of a scooter. My other friend has 1, this bike will get you confident of yourself going into turns and leaning, but you will never learn moderation. This is 1 thing i learned on the r1. Never got a speeding ticket, and even though i was in some dangerous traffic situations was never in an accident. I prolly would have been balls-out crazy on a 600. u can get a hayabusa if you learn to discipline yourself.

  2. i think you should go for the 600. after a month or two you will start getting bored or the 250

  3. I have had 250 as well a 650 and more. I started with a 250 and that is absolutely the best thing I have done for many reasons. Mainly because it is very forgiving, you can make all kinds of mistakes but you won't end up in a ditch like in the 600s. Go with a 250, then upgrade slowly to a 600 after a year. It is your first time so be sensible and get a bike that you won't worry much about even if you drop it. Ninja 250/500 is a great starter bike

  4. To tell u the truth it really doesnt matter but me personally i'd prefer honda

  5. Sorry, but you must have clicked the wrong section, as this is the motorcycle RACING questions.

Your question does not involve Racing so .....

The best advice I can give you is you to post this question again.

You would get a better response in....

    "Cars & Transportation"> "Motorcycles"

  6. In my humble opinion, it doesn't matter what you get, chances are and I don't want to put you off getting a bike but you will fall off it at some time, you don't say what appeals to you whether it be a sports bike or a naked, a sports bike will cost more to more to repair if the worst comes to happen.

I guess what I'm trying to say having seen people in the UK doing direct access spending a fortune on the latest hot bike only to write it off, is get whatever you feel comfortable on but don't spend a lot of money on it, ride it for year get your confidence then get something better, the difference between a 10 year old CBR600 and a modern one is immense the old CBR performance wise is possibly less than a modern naked 600. just buy what you like the look of and checks out ok, none of the manufacturers build a bad bike these days it's down to personal preference.
