  1. that's just a stupid statistic the win-loss record is just to see how your team wins or loses when you pitch or if you get run support to win or get decision. look at johan santana, his team blew 6 good games of his he would've have been 18-6 but he's 12-8 right now but he's one of the best pitchers look at his stats.

  2. did he say "win his 9th straight start" or his "9th straight decision" it's possible he was talking about decisions, in which case a ND wouldn't effect this stat and the streak would continue.

  3. It's not his 9th straight start they like to be cutesy and leave out no-decisions to make these guys look better. It's a joke really how they create false stats to make a player look better.

  4. Scott is correct.  He was referring to consecutive wins without a loss after being traded.  Since a "no decision" is not a loss his statement is correct.

  5. yes he did end up with a no decision in that game

so it is incorrect its more like 9 wins with out a loss but not straight

  6. I do know for an absolute fact he got a ND decision against the Cubs. I do not know about what Stuart said though. In fact CC shoulda lost that game against the Cubs if the d**n bullpen hadn't let a 2 out HR in the eighth tie it up which my Cubs eventually won anyway.

  7. When writers and sportscasters are discussing a pitcher's consecutive wins (or losses) they are discussing decisions awarded the pitcher.

Sabathia has 8 consecutive winning decisions (no losses) with the Brewers since the trade.  He is attempting to tie Doyle Alexander of the 1987 Detroit Tigers as the most recent pitchers to go 9-0 after a trade.

Since he received another "no decision" Sunday, August 24th, he will go for his 9th straight win again later this week.

  8. Yeah he did look:

    W: C. Gaudin (7-4, 3.31); L: S. Torres (5-3, 2.86); SV: C. Marmol (5)

    HR: CHC: A. Soriano (17). MIL: R. Braun (29), J. Hardy (15), R. Branyan (12).

But if you dont "lose" (by getting an official loss) your streak continues
