The first half ended with Barcelona keeping their lead intact. The Catalans were dominant in all the departments. They were simply outstanding at the back, they dominated possession and they also took their shots on goal. However, the only drawback was the

Sporting Gijon did their homework in order to keep the Argentinean maestro silent. Two of the defenders were always on the best player in the world and it was hard for him to produce his everyday magic.
After scoring their first goal, Barcelona kept the possession for a long time.

Barcelona are now first in La Liga with 14 points to their name.
