Sporting Lisbon's Yannick Djalo set to join Aston Villa – Primeira Liga News
Sporting Lisbon’s Yannick Djalo is set to join English Premier League giants, Aston Villa, after reportedly agreeing to terms with the club. The attacker’s switch to Nice in the summer was rejected by FIFA but now it seems that he will have another opportunity, this time in England.
Portuguese International, Yannick Djalo, made the headlines this summer after FIFA famously rejected his move to French Ligue 1 side, Nice.
The forward signed for Le Gym on the last day of the transfer window but the footballing authority deemed it void after citing that the procedure was completed after the window had already closed.
A long legal case ensued and FIFA declined appeals from Nice, who eventually took up the case with the Court of Arbitration for Sport. However luck was not on their side as the CAS also refused to change the ruling on the matter.
Djalo was then forced to return back to Lisbon and has been with the club ever since. Although he hasn’t featured for the Lions, he has attracted the attention of Aston Villa and is reportedly going to be signing for them in January.

The Villans have been heavily relying on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 International, Bent, for the majority of the goals scored and could do wonders with a new striker partner for him at the helm.
Although it is reported that both the sides and the player have reached an agreement but the details of the proposed switch have not been made public. It is also not certain whether Djalo will move to Villa Park on loan or on a permanent basis.
Any sort of transfer fee has also not been revealed and the whole saga has been put under intense wraps by the concerned parties. However what is confirmed is that Yannick Djalo will no longer be plying his trade at Estadio Jose Alvalade and is going to be leaving for greener pastures in the Premiership.
While everything looks set for a move, it remains to be seen what kind of impact the player will have in his new surroundings and whether he will easily adjust into the Aston Villa team.
