Sporting director Leonardo satisfied with Paris Saint-Germain’s progress – Ligue 1 news
Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has expressed his satisfaction at Les Rouge-et-Bleu win in their opening UEFA Europa League group game against FC Red Bull Salzburg at Parc des Princes.
After making some big-money moves in the summer transfer window, Leonardo can now afford a smile as he looks at the fruits of his efforts. PSG recorded their sixth straight win in the 2011/12 campaign.
In a post-match interview to French publication, Le Parisien, Leonardo was quoted saying, “The team is beginning to show its worth. This is very important. During the first three Championnat games at home there were 40,000 spectators not as happy as today.
This has not happened in a long time.”
The Brazilian sporting director further added, “The hard part is to maintain this level of performance in every match, whatever the competition might be, the Championelle, the Europa League, or domestic cup. The team’s responsibility is defending the colours
of PSG.”
Leonardo confessed that the recruitments and the start of the season began very quickly giving less time for the new players to settle in. in the final week. With less time to settle in, the Brazilian believes that Les Parisiens are on the right track and are growing in confidence with every match they play.
