The Lisbon outfit have secured the services of Orange International, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stijn-Schaars-c34229, on a three-year worth €850,000.
“I am looking forward to playing. I have come to a great club with a great history. I will fight to be champion," Schaars said during his presentation.
The Midfielder started his career in the youth ranks of De Bataven before settling on a move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vitesse-c40905. After moving up the pecking order, he made his debut for the Arnhem side in 2003. His performances at GelreDome lead to an eventual move to Dutch giants,
AZ Alkmaar, in 2005.
With Alkmaar he earned a winners medal in the 2008/09 campaign and although he didn’t play in the 2008 European Championships due to a ankle Injury, he was included in the Dutch Squad for the 2010 FIFA World Cup that reached the Final at Johannesburg.
His move to Sporting is a timely one, as the Lions are looking to rebuild their squad and challenge Porto for the crown next year.
Vitoria have Yannick N'Djeng on their radar
The conquerors are looking to bolster their attacking options with the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/JSM-Béjaïa-c39632 striker, but the negotiations could reach a stumbling block due to the Algerian club’s valuation of their prized asset, which is in the region of €800,000.
The Portuguese outfit will have to go head-to-head with Esperance Tunis in order to land the highly-rated prospect, but N’Djeng himself is keen on a move to Estádio D. Afonso Henriques.
“I’ve met the management of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984, but the eventuality lies in the talks between both clubs. I hope something good will come out of it for me,” N’Djeng said.
The Cameroonian is yet to be capped for his country but at the age of 21, he will be a long-term buy for the Galactic Minho.
N’Djeng started his career with Espoirs FC Mimboman before moving to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 Giants Canon Sportif de Yaoundé. After a three-year stint at the helm, he transferred to Algerian Club JSM Béjaïa after impressing the management in a trial.
His glittering performances in the Algerian league have attracted the attention of the Guimarães outfit and the club are now negotiating with their African counterparts for a suitable deal.
With the player also enthusiastic on a move to Portugal, Vitoria have the upper hand against their rivals, Esperance Tunis, for his signature and a move could well materialize in the summer.
