Well, with an Industrial Capitalist society there are businesses, investments, and people becoming richer. When people become richer they have more time for leisure activities such as baseball and basketball. More investments go into professional teams and venues, this was seen during the boom of the first decade of 20th century when numerous baseball teams were set up. This was also a time when American Capitalism grew and USA became the leading industrial country of the world. Therefore there is a direct correlation between sports, leisure, and the advancement of the Capitalist Industrial society.
