Spot-fixing: Day 4 – Mohammad Amir questioned by lawyers
On day four of the make or break hearing of spot-fixing allegations in Doha, the youngest of the three suspended players, Mohammad Amir was cross-examined by an International Cricket Council lawyer as well as lawyers of the other two suspended players.
The 18-year-old pacer was reportedly questioned by one of the lawyers representing the ICC in the case. Besides the ICC lawyer, Amir was also quizzed by the legal representatives of the other two suspended players, the then Test captain Salman Butt and Amir’s
new-ball partner Mohammad Asif.
It was expected that the teenager’s questioning would continue on the fifth day as well.
Butt’s grilling ended after a lot of cross-examination from not only the ICC lawyers but also from the lawyers of his former teammates Asif and Amir. This was revealed by an ICC official who was also part of the closed-door hearing which opened in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Qatar-c2986
Financial Centre on Thursday, 6 January 2011 and will run for six days.
It was also reported by the source that the new-ball pair, featuring Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir has revealed at the hearing that they just followed their skipper’s instructions in the Lord’s Test when inquired by the ICC lawyers about the no-ball conspiracy.
