The New Zealand cricket chief, Justin Vaughan is concerned regarding the corruption scandals that have engulfed the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 team recently. Pakistan is set to play New Zealand in the upcoming series and Vaughan is concerned that the crowd may not take interest
in the series following the allegations on the Pakistan cricket team by the News of the World.
Pakistan is scheduled to play three Twenty20 matches, two Tests and six ODI matches against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 but there is doubt over the interest amongst the fans. The attention of the series is likely to be diverted to the spot-fixing case of Salman Butt, Mohammad
Amir and Mohammad Asif.
Apart form these scandals, the New Zealand cricket team hasn’t been able to perform up to the expectations of their fans. The Kiwi team has suffered back to back whitewash series defeats against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750. The team has lost 11 consecutive matches
and last won their match in August against India.
Due to these issues, there is lesser crowd expected in the series. The only thing that can attract the crowd is the selection of John Wright as the national coach. The fans will be hoping that Wright will turn things around for New Zealand. Wright was named
the coach of the team following a lot of criticism on the former coach Mark Greatbatch.
Despite all the concerns, the commercial manager of the New Zealand team Peter Dwan was optimistic of an attractive series ahead. He said, “We can't change what is happening. All we can do is go to the market with a product we think is very compelling --
a highly entertaining series of T20, then a good Test series followed by ODIs of our national team against very good sportsmen who are successful on the pitch.”
The New Zealand cricket team has already suffered a couple of blows after their captain Daniel Vettori and the experienced wicketkeeper batsman Brendon McCullum were rested from the Twenty20 matches following their back injuries.
The first Twenty20 is scheduled to be played on the Boxing Day. Pakistan lost their warm up match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Auckland-c766 by five wickets yesterday and both the teams will be looking forward to improve their recent form in international cricket.
