Spot-fixing tainted trio, where are they now - Opinion
Although it is said that in the glitz and glamour of showbiz one has to stay in the limelight, but in today’s modern world the same can also be argued for sportsmen as they are no less than movies stars.
While in the western world football players enjoy this status, in the subcontinent, it is the cricket players who are – at times - worshiped like Greek Gods.
However, even the Greeks had Gods who made mistakes and then sought redemption, and following that mythological cricketers have made perhaps the biggest mistakes of their lives by throwing away games for substantial payments.
Nonetheless, as they say no one is guilty unless proven otherwise, most of the players in the past got off the hook with a slap on the wrist.
Unfortunately, this was not the case for Pakistan’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mohammad-Amir-c76675 and Salman Butt, as these three individuals have the honours of becoming the first cricketers in the history of the game to have been charged and successfully convicted of spot-fixing.
Well, now that they have almost seen an end to their careers after getting banned from the sport. Their memories have to some extent faded away.
The million dollar (rupees) question is now about their whereabouts. And with all three out of the English prison, perhaps no one is concerned about their lives.
However, criminals they may be, but there are still a considerable number of fans who are still in a state of denial regarding the corrupt practices of their favourite players.
After a long and hectic research and analysis, this scribe managed to get in contact with the three players to get an insight on their present situation.
First was Mohammad Amir, who still has a chance of making it back in the national team after serving his ban, but just to stay in the limelight and to maintain is presence in the minds of the national selectors, the youngster is fast gaining popularity among
house wives watching morning shows.
Apparently, he is quite a catch among the ladies and seems like every morning show host wants this lad all for herself first thing in the morning.
Without a doubt the Gujarkhan boy has groomed himself to a level where he can take the job of any morning show host.
According to him, this gig is his backup plan if his return in the national team goes awry.
Then it was time for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Salman-Butt-c2418 to reveal his plan, and the left-handed batsman, who in the past had worked as a cricket expert on a small television network, is now seriously considering becoming a lawyer to help players struggling to hide their corrupt
practices. In his interview, Butt said, “I have given my golden years to this game and I now feel obligated to give something back to this magnificent sport. No player would ever have to go behind bars under my watch. I will fight to protect anyone accused
to fixing matches.”
Meanwhile, Mohammad Asif, who is still living in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, is flourishing in his bakery business and he intends to stay there instead of coming back home. According him his international career is over and there is no point in pursuing a lost cause.
