Spotting at 7 weeks, should I be worried?

Last week I had a scan done to make sure my dates were accurate. we saw a baby measuring right on track, with a beating heart. 2 days after that (Friday night) I had some bright red bleeding when I wiped. I went to the ER and the bleeding stopped while I was there.. they did another scan and saw the baby again, alive. I didn't experience any more bright red blood all weekend, nor was there brown blood. This morning when I woke up and went to the bathroom I noticed some brown blood when I wiped. There wasn't a whole lot of it, but I am still concerned. I'm not cramping, I haven't had s*x in over a week, I'm not passing clots... should I be worried? I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow... I am hoping to see my baby's heartbeat again. What do you think is happening?

  1. First of all don't stress. That is the worse thing you can do. Drink lots of water and try to relax. I would wait and tell your doc tomorrow. Unless it gets real bad like the the first time. But other then that I would just take it easy.

  2. i hope all goes well for you in my experience with my first i did have some brown spots but every women is different Good Luck and keep me posted

  3. Your placenta could have a small tear, as in tearing away from the uterus.  This is only a guess of course.

My friend had the same symptoms as you and that's what is was.  She was told to rest a lot, but irregardless, she had to have it repaired.  Don't get scared because of my story or anything, because only your doctor can tell you for sure.

  4. It's probably fine. I spotted around 7 weeks and it was fine. First trimester bleeding is expected. I truly hope it will be fine. Good luck. Take it easy: sit and lay down as much as possible.
