Spousal sponsorship?

my wife receive a letter asking her to send the original passport to the visa office in manila Philippines in addition to her application that i filed under the spousal sponsorship outside Canada. which is i think its on the last stage.. how long it will take them to send it back (passport) to my wife? do they send it back together with the visa??

Yes!!  They are requesting the passport so that they can affix the visa inside of it.  The visa is usually good for 6 months and your wife has until it expires to land in Canada and claim her residency.

They should have the passport returned to her in about 3 weeks.  This is the last stage of the application process.  When your wife enters Canada then she will fill out the paperwork to get her PR.  The PR card will be mailed to her Canadian address in 4-6 weeks.  In the meantime another document will be attached inside her passport to be used until the PR card arrives.
