Sprained thumb! what could happen if I dont do anything about it?

The joint where my thumb and hand are connected is sprained...and has been sprained for about 3 months...some days it doesn't hurt...but some day like today it throbs with pain...it never gets swollen...just sore! If I dont rest it and take care of it could it lead to anything bigger? Its just sprained I'm pretty sure..I can still move it.

well that happened to my thumb once and anotehr time with my middle and index fingers...on teh thumb i did sumthin about it and it was all gone within a motnh or 2...but my 2 fingers, i did nothing abotu it and they are still a lil swollen amd it still hurts abit occasionally, and its been about 4-5 months!....so u should do sumthin....ice it or get a sparined finger holding thingy...et em at phramacies rly cheap n easy
