Question:

Spray paint instead of airbrush for posters?

Can I do this or am I going to run into problems? It bled through the poster board but only after I applied too many coats since the second color wouldn't stick over the first. I didn't let the first coat dry. The smell is still pretty strong and I'm wondering if that goes away. Any suggestions?

  1. You should be able to do it if you keep the Artwork pretty basic

Cut out stencil masks and hold them away from the surface when you spray through.

I would let the paint dry before oversparying. if it does not stay on too well you may need to spray a fixative on it

Read the instructions on the can, it should tell you if you are breathing in poison.

If you are you will need to use a good mask with a respirator.

  2. I wouldn't use spray paint. If you use too much, it can get sticky. It also might smell bad, and might not stick to the poster.

Why not stick to good ol' markers??
