Spray painting a guitar?

I want to spray paint my eletric guitar. How should i go about doing this and what do i do about the strings?

You will want to remove the strings, and any other hardware that is easy to take off.  Mask the rest off with painter's tape.  

You're probably going to have to scuff the guitar up a bit, where you plan to paint, to get the new paint to adhere well.

To help minimize paint runs, don't spray in one spot...keep the sprayer moving.  Start the spray off the guitar, and keep it moving till you are off the guitar, and then release the trigger.

If you are using multiple colors, be sure to let each color dry thoroughly before starting the next.
