Spray painting motorcycle matt black. do i need...?

I'm spraying my ninja matt black for the first time using a hvlp gravity spray gun and compressor,

i know i need a primer/undercoat, 4-5 coats of paint (lightly sanded between each) but do i need to use lacquer or is this only for a gloss finish?
