I'm thinking about getting them because i'm pretty hard on my ankles when i ride and they end up hurting after a while. not good lol. they are REALLY expensive though... are there any other brands of jointed stirrups that you like? or are the Sprengers worth it?

  1. I have a pair of Metalab jointed irons and I know that Sta-Brite makes jointed irons too.  I think they're both less expensive than the Sprenger irons.  And if you get them on ebay, you can find some really nice irons for cheaper than in the stores.  There's a pair of Sprengers on ebay that are currently only $31, but the auction doesn't end for 4 days so I think there will be a lot more bidding.  http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll...

  2. If you can afford them, then sure Sprengers are worth it.. but there are so many other more affordable options. Stubben makes a good set.

I have jointed stirrup irons (they only flex one way, unlike some of the sprengers), and they are basically "no name" brand, lol. I got them at a local tack store, they are just the "house brand" (like how Greenhawk has "Vala" etc) and they work just great. Unless you are an Olympic calibre showjumper, they should work great for you.. I absolutely love mine.
