Spring Of Fame eying a strong run in Congratulations Champion Jockey Richard Hughes Floodlit Stakes
Spring Of Fame will be looking to make a strong impression in the Congratulations Champion Jockey Richard Hughes Floodlit Stakes (Listed Race) at Kempton in England on Wednesday, November 7, 2012. He was unable to make a strong impression last time around,
but will be eying an improvement this time around.
There are several other decent runners lined up for action in the 1 mile 4 furlong event, which is scheduled to kick off at 18:55 GMT. The triumphant stallion will be awarded a cash prize of £18,714 in the end.
Although, the weather has not been good for racing in England over the past couple of weeks, yet the conditions have improved today. The going has been described as standard and the organisers will be hoping that rain stays away from the venue before the
start of action.
The class-1 contest is named after veteran jockey, Richard Hughes, who will be riding three-year-old filly Sequence. She is a decent performer, but has been out of touch over the past couple of events.
However, the bookmakers have rated Viking Storm as the favourite to succeed in the race. He has been delivering some excellent results over the past few races and will not make life easy for his opponents in the end.
The four-year-old gelding has been given a general starting price of 5 to 2 and the punters will definitely be interested in risking a lot of money in his favour. He was victorious in his previous three races, which shows the kind of form he is in at the
moment.
Despite that, the Harry Dunlop’s trainee will have to be extremely careful during the race, as his opponents cannot be taken lightly at all.
Coming back to Spring Of Fame, he has got some useful experience and the conditions at Kempton will definitely work in his favour. He has done a pretty decent job during the ongoing season and will look to continue delivering positive results for his team.
However, the Saeed Bin Suroor’s trainee will need to improve his overall winning percentage in order to get the attention of the bettors with consistency. He will be partnered by seasoned jockey, Mickael Barzalona, and the pair has got a solid chance of
shining at Kempton.
