Spring connecting height adjustment

Question

my grandson pulled the u-shape wheel adjustment on the bottom of the vac and the spring connecting it to the height adjustment flew out.  I need help to find out where to connect the ends again.  Even Eureka had no info directly related to this, and I can find no schematics to look at.  PLEASE help me!!!    It's a Eureka Pet Lovers upright. The Model # is 8852 DVZ.  Thank you, Judy
