Spring in the Air aka “Little Zenyatta” will look to emulate the awesome mare in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies
Mark E. Casse trained 2-year-old filly, Spring in the Air, a long, light framed bay filly has been recently called as the “Little Zenyatta” mainly because she prances like her, tapping one front hoof in front of the other, just like the wonder mare used to switch the other leg.
"I'm not sure why she does it," he said. "sometimes it's one leg, sometimes it's two. It's nothing we taught her to do. She got a lot of cheers at Churchill Downs where she was training before shipping to Southern California). People were calling out to her, 'Zenyatta, Zenyatta.'

Spring in the Air, popularly known as “Little Zenyatta” has been pointed toward the Grade 1 Grey Goose Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies at Santa Anita Park on 2 November, 2012.
Jockey Patrick Husband has also hopped on to the bandwagon, and started calling her “Little Zenyatta” who will have to turn in a sparkling performance like the real Zenyatta to overhaul a solid lineup reeled in the by Juvenile Fillies over 1 1/16 miles.
John C. Oxley’s juvenile filly is currently exiting victory in the Grade 1 Alcibiades Stakes over Keeneland’s Polytrack, when she raced over two turns for the first time in her career, and downed Broken Spell in second and Magical Moon in third while covering the distance in 1 minute and 44.33 seconds on 5 October, 2012.
Out of Unbridled’s mare Unbridled Run, Spring in the Air has run on synthetic surfaces in three of her four starts, while winning two of those three starts on the Polytrack.
Spring in the Air broke her maiden at second asking at Woodbine over a distance of 5 furlong on 4 August, 2012, and completed the distance in 1 minute and 10.94 seconds.
Though, she finished second in her very next start also at Woodbine in the Natalma Stakes over a mile to winner, Spring Venture.
She has been working for her Breeders’ Cup start at Churchill Downs, where she put in two five furlong breezes after her win at Keeneland.
